Age-based classes that children can grow into

Parents usually want more than a busy class. Our kids martial arts classes give children a structured place to move, listen, practise and grow at a pace that suits their age. We separate training into Little Dragons for ages 4 to 6 and Junior Warriors for ages 7 to 13, so the teaching style matches how children learn. Younger children build confidence, balance and coordination through short activities and simple goals. Older children start to recognise Wing Chun positions, movement and partner work in a more focused way.

Useful skills that carry beyond the lesson

We keep the atmosphere supportive and clear, especially for children who are shy at first or still learning how to work in a group. Sessions at Wing Chun use repetition and achievable steps to build concentration, teamwork and self-control without putting children under pressure. Practical self-defence is taught in an age-appropriate way through awareness, movement and simple responses. Progress at Wing Chun is gradual, with regular attendance helping children settle, improve and work towards grading when they are ready.

Frequently asked questions

Which class should our child join first?

Age is the first guide. Little Dragons is for ages 4 to 6 and uses short, fun activities with simple goals. Junior Warriors is for ages 7 to 13 and brings in more structured technique, partner drills and clearer progression as children are ready.

What if our child is nervous about starting?

That is common, and we keep the first steps clear. The structure is supportive, the goals are manageable and we build familiarity through repetition. Many children settle once they understand the routine and see that they are allowed to learn at their own pace.

Is self-defence taught in a safe, age-appropriate way?

Yes. For children, self-defence starts with awareness, posture, movement and simple responses that fit their age and development. We do not rush children into complex work. Instead, we build the right habits first and add more structure as skills improve.
